This mountainside home designed by O’Neill Rose Ar This mountainside home designed by O’Neill Rose Architects is clad in our charred Accoya Shou Sugi Ban Gator.⁠ ⁠ The home’s architectural design was inspired by local snow fences and mining structures, and dramatically frames surrounding views of the Spanish Peaks and Ennis valley. @archdigest writer Elizabeth Fazzare says “In the sections not glazed with high-performance triple-pane windows, its upper levels are protected by wood screens charred in the Japanese shou sugi ban preservation technique. We build with wood every day, but this project was We build with wood every day, but this project was a little more playful than our normal projects.⁠ ⁠ We were proud to donate the wood for this special playhouse build for the Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses, brought to life by Cyle, Roberto and crew, and SHM Architects. A whole lot of creativity, craftsmanship, and heart went into this one, and we loved being a small part of something that supports Dallas CASA and its work helping kids find safe, stable homes.⁠ ⁠ We love seeing what wood can do when the project gets to have a little fun.

A contemporary building nestled in the Berkshires, designed for movement and wrapped in natural wood, it is a reminder that the best architecture connects people, place, and material in meaningful ways.⁠ ⁠ "Rather than deferring to the barn aesthetic... the new theater offers an abstraction of it." We love that idea.
