Perched on a rare flat mountaintop at the southernmost edge of the Rocky Mountains, this extraordinary 20-acre compound has long been a sanctuary for creativity.
Once owned by the late, iconic photographer Herb Ritts, the property was a muse for his art, drawing luminaries from around the world to its ethereal setting with breathtaking 360-degree views. Now under the care of Swedish artist Gordon Skalleberg, the retreat has begun a new chapter.
After years of exposure to the harsh Southwestern elements, the home’s siding was in need of replacement. Through a careful update carried out by Skalleberg himself, the project is now clad entirely with Thermowood Spruce. Rendered in a deep Texas Indigo finish, the home’s new cladding pays homage to its storied past while laying the foundation for its future.
