Delta Millworks is thrilled to announce the arrival of our first shipment of Accoya wood from the newly commissioned Accoya USA manufacturing plant in Kingsport, Tennessee.
The Kingsport plant, a joint venture between Accsys Technologies and Eastman Chemical Company, began commissioning earlier this year and is now fully operational. This state-of-the-art facility, modeled after Accsys’ successful production plant in the Netherlands, is poised to meet the growing demand for sustainable timber in the U.S. market. The facility’s launch comes at a crucial time as the construction industry increasingly turns to environmentally friendly materials.
Dr. Jelena Arsic van Os, CEO of Accsys Technologies PLC, emphasized the significance of this development: “When on stream, this new facility will double our capacity from just 18 months ago. It is a major milestone for Accsys that will bring our production closer to customers and unlock significant growth opportunities in our largest potential market.”
Accoya wood, known for its unmatched durability and sustainability, is now more accessible than ever thanks to this new facility, which is the result of partnerships with North American manufacturers Keim, in Ohio, and Saroyan Hardwoods, in California. Ensuring that builders and designers across North America can source this innovative material more easily, this new plant will further Delta’s commitment to delivering top-quality products that meet the highest industry standards.
“As champions of sustainability, we at Delta Millworks look forward to furthering our partnership with Accoya thanks to this new, stateside plant. This newfound proximity will allow us to equip our clients with material in record time, at reduced cost, all while minimizing the carbon footprint through a shortened supply chain,” says Delta President, Robbie Davis.
As the first shipment from Kingsport arrives at our facilities, we are excited about the future of sustainable building materials in the U.S. and beyond. Head to our Accoya products page to learn more about the benefits of this forward-thinking wood.
