Delta Millworks is excited to work with Laity Lodge on their current renovation of their ecumenical Christian retreat center. Established in 1961 in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the Laity Lodge is undergoing its first major renovation in fifty years, and the project’s goal is to improve the current guest lodging experience while preserving the welcoming feel that the lodge has provided over the past 50 years.
Laity Lodge is working with a variety of architects and designers throughout the renovation in order to preserve its rich history and beauty, and is committed to using more sustainable materials for the new additions and improvements. As such, they called on us to help provide new exterior siding for both the Lodge and the Cedar Brake apartments. They recently visited our millwork in Austin to learn a bit more about the Shou Sugi Ban technique, and we were excited to show them our unique wood burning process.
The Laity Lodge will feature our Western Red Cedar B&B exterior siding. It’s rot, insect, and decay resistance, along with its low maintenance properties will help add to the design of these buildings for many years to come. Read more about how Delta Millworks has helped Laity Lodge’s renovation on their latest blog post and get a sneak peak of our Shou Sugi Ban process in the video they created during their visit.
